Proud of my fellow Second Harvest Food Bank volunteers. It was cold with a slight drizzle — a welcome break from the torrential rain of the past few days. Nonetheless, everyone was out early to unload the truck, pack the food, and get us drivers on our way to deliver it.
In the two years I have been volunteering, I’ve been humbled by the scale of the food insecurity issue in the US. Even in the relatively affluent Silicon Valley area, this is a huge problem (and the pandemic made I worse).
We have to address this. One person at a time, one family at a time. Rain or shine.
